For years, anytime I would drive through Tulsa, I would always see the big Arnold’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers billboards scattered throughout town.
Every time I did, I’d think to myself: “Man that really looks like a great burger.”
Finally, on a quick trip to Tulsa last December, I was able to stop in for a late lunch and Arnold’s did not disappoint!
I was only mad at myself for ignoring those billboards the hundreds of times I drove through Tulsa and didn’t visit this great burger joint many years ago.
Arnold’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers is a classic old-school type of restaurant serving cooked-to-order burgers, fries/tots/onion rings, fountain drinks and handmade milkshakes.
On my visit, I went with the Double Bacon Cheeseburger with LOT (lettuce, onion, tomato), Onion Rings and a big Cherry Limeade to wash it all down.
This burger was absolute perfection!
I felt like what really made it great was the fresh hamburger meat and the super soft, fresh bun holding it all together.
My onion rings were fantastic as they were the breaded/crunchy type.
I don’t know about everyone else, but when it comes to the side choice with my burgers my preference almost always is:
1) Onion Rings (with ranch)
2) Tater Tots (with ketchup)
3) Fries (with ketchup)
4) Chips
I look forward to visiting Arnold’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers again my next time in Green Country.
My suggestion to anyone looking for a great burger in Tulsa would be to NOT ignore the billboards driving through town, but instead take the nearest exit and visit the Arnold’s closest to you for lunch or dinner.
