On the drive home from our Spring Break ski trip, we randomly came across Mr. Burger in Guymon.

This was not a planned or researched stop.

My wife immediately says, “they used to have one of those Canadian (Texas) and they have awesome Cherry Limeades!”

I had never eaten at a Mr. Burger, or even heard of it, but I really love a good Cherry Limeade and with a name like “Mr. Burger,” it must be good, right?

We walked inside and it reminded me of some of the local burger joints I grew up with years ago: somewhat classically dated, but also very charming.

I could tell by looking at the menu and past the ordering counter back to the kitchen, this was going to be a pretty good place. The griddles were going, deep fryers bubbling and buns being pulled out fresh from newly delivered bakery boxes.

Everyone ordered Cherry Limeades and the fresh squeezing of limes began. These were real deal limeades and I could instantly tell they were going to be awesome.

After my first drink or two, these fully satisfying Limeades were going to be going down quick, but luckily the refills were unlimited and free!

I ended up having 2 while we were dining in and then got a refill for the road.

Our food was cooked to order and very good!

It was everything one would expect from a classic burger joint.

I went with the Double Bacon Cheeseburger and tots and it really hit the spot in the middle of our all-day road trip.

Washing this all down with one of the best Cherry Limeades I have ever had in my life…let’s just say I was very pleased and satisfied with our food stop at Mr. Burger!

While wrapping up eating, I texted my good friend Todd Kerr at Hooker to tell him I was up in his part of the world and had stopped to give Mr. Burger a try.

He informed me there was one in Hooker as well. When I told him that I got tots, he said there will be 13 tots in the bag, and he was exactly right.

He suggested the Onion Rings and Jalapeño Chicken next time I make a stop here.

When I got home, I was still intrigued by my random travel food find and it seems that online review-wise, the breakfast is also highly touted.

Looking at the menu, I could see this being very accurate.

So, if you are ever up in the panhandle or just traveling through Guymon or Hooker, I suggest you make a pit stop at Mr. Burger and make sure to get yourself a fresh squeezed cherry limeade to go with whatever your selection is off their menu, whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
